The rich corporate social responsibility introduced by Socfin Agricultural Community have left market women of Sahn-Malen Chiefdom to joyously showers praises on the agricultural company for the extra-ordinary ventures in their community.
The market women were once deprived in the chiefdom, but with the intervention of the company commerce is boosting in the chiefdom.
The unifying women overtly denounced all form of intimidation by pseudo groups imposing as civil society in the chiefdom or the district.
They called on the government and the chiefdom authority to protect the agricultural company from the hands of self-styled civil society or local NGO’s like Green Scenery.
Adiatu Lahai Chairlady of Sahn-Malen Market outlined the success story of Socfin towards the traders in the chiefdom like the provision of market loans to traders, roads amongst others in the chiefdom.
She recounted the successes of the company as the beacon of hope to women in Sahn-Malen chiefdom and Pujehun district as a whole.
“Women in Sahn-Malen Chiefdom are blessed with the help of the agricultural company in the chiefdom.’ She said.
“Our children and husband are gainfully employed, we say thanks to God to the government and the chiefdom authority in bringing the agricultural company in the chiefdom.’ Madam Lahai was quoted as saying.
Also, Mariama Mattia was full with joy and ecstasy as she gloriously showered praises on the company in ensuring that they uphold with their corporate social responsibility and also adhered with the Agenda for Prosperity campaign of the government.
Madam Mattia who previously was struggled to have a better capital can now boast of a medium scale business with the help of relatives that are working for the agricultural company.
She called on detractors to stop propagating negative things about the company, but rather help to push development in the chiefdom.
The road leading to the market community was in a deplorable form, but with the intervention of the company the market women are criss-crossing the market with ease.
They also showered praises on the country rep of Socfin Garben Haringsma for his ‘down to earth’ demeanour to the people.
“Mr. Garben is a quintessential human being; he feels for the people, he knows the need of the community people and even cuddled us when we have community meetings.
